If we've learned anything this week, it's that playing football with a ball that's deflated can give you a competitive advantage over your opponents. A deflated football is easier to throw and catch, which is why the NFL forces teams to inflate footballs to a certain level. So on last night's episode of TNT's Inside the NBA, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O'Neal wondered, "Can deflating a basketball help you, too?"

To try and find out, they put together a highly scientific experiment that featured Shaq shooting three free throws with a fully-inflated basketball and three free throws with a deflated basketball. And they discovered two things by doing this: One, Shaq is still a horrible (HORRIBLE!) free throw shooter. And two, a deflated basketball will not help you become a better free throw shooter.

As an added "bonus," Shaq also took a three-pointer with one of the balls and…OMG, OUR EYES!

Check out Shaq's shots in the clip above. As Ernie Johnson noted, this didn't really prove much, but it was still fun to watch.
