As is so often the case, Aaron Rodgers was the star for the Green Bay Packers as he tied an NFL record with six first half touchdown passes, leading the Packers to a blowout 55-14 win over the Chicago Bears in a game that wasn’t even as close as the final scoreline indicates.

Rodgers absolutely shredded the pathetic Bears secondary, completing 18 of 27 passes for 315 yards and the six touchdowns. Three of his TD passes went for 40-plus yards (two to Jordy Nelson, one to Eddie Lacy), helping the Packers to a 42-0 halftime lead.

From a Bears perspective, there really isn’t much to feel good about. They became the first team since the famous 1923 Rochester Jeffersons (who!?) to allow 50-plus points in consecutive games, and barely looked better offensive. Quarterback Jay Cutler struggled again, completing 22 of 37 passes for 272 yards, a touchdown, and two INTs. He is now 1-10 with 22 interceptions in his career against the Packers. Even when things went well for the Bears, it was bad. Star receiver Brandon Marshall—their best offensive player tonight with eight receptions, 112 yards, and a touchdown—left the game with an ankle injury in the second half and did not return.

The 6-3 Packers will host the Eagles next week in a matchup of two of the NFC’s best teams, while the struggling 3-6 Bears will host an improving Vikings squad.
