Wayne Rooney has become the first Premier League player to hit the 10 million follower mark on Twitter.

The England and Manchester United captain reached the landmark on Monday and becomes the fifth-most followed footballer on Twitter and the sixth-most popular athlete.

It's about time Wayne Rooney has something to smile about. He's currently serving a three-match ban with Manchester United after stupidly kicking out at West Ham's Stewart Downing last week.
