Oh Oh. It's time for that thing you've been waiting all Halloween for: Contract extension news!

OK, maybe not (besides, LeBron James vs. Kyrie Irving is happening). This is still pretty noteworthy partially because extension deadline is midnight.

Klay Thompson agreed to a four-year, $70 million extension with the Warriors. After averaging 18.3 points last year, the younger half of the Splash Brothers will look to still be a problem for perimeter defenders. The Kings tried to get Thompson, but they clearly fell short. They'll look forward to spending next April at home.

Anderson Varejao doesn't have Thompson's jumper, but he is important enough to get an extension with the Cavaliers. He gets two years with $20 million guaranteed; the third-year option is worth $10 million. Chances are he's far more excited about this extension than he would've been a year ago.

Jimmy Butler, however, did not sign the extension he was offered. The defensive-minded guard rejected the Bulls' final offer this morning with this explanation:

It came down to me deciding that I want to bet on myself...It was about me believing that I put the work in this summer to become a better player with the hope that my improvement will give the Bulls a better chance to win a championship.

So Butler wants (what he think he's) owed. Of course, this allows another team a shot at Butler during the summer. That's months away though; we're only at Day 4 of the season.
