If Adrian Peterson wasn't already in deep enough hot water following his indictment over a child abuse charge, this should do the trick. KHOU is reporting that Peterson is being accused of injuring another one of his kids after the mother of the child filed a report with Child Protective Services.
According to the report, this "whooping" by Peterson was the result of the 4-year-old cursing at one of his brothers last June. After the child returned to his mother following a visit to see AP, the mother sent a text message to the Minnesota Vikings running back inquiring about the scar over the kid's right eye, accompanied by a photo of the child sporting two bandages over the injury, which you can see in the above photo. Here's their exchange:
Mother: "What happened to his head?"
Peterson: "Hit his head on the Carseat."
Mother: "How does that happen, he got a whoopin in the car."
Peterson: "Yep."
Mother: "Why?"
Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self."
Then, the mother confronted Peterson with how the 4-year-old received the scar:
Mother: "What did you hit him with?"
Peterson never directly answered, but later replied: "Be still n take ya whooping he would have saved the scare (scar). He aight (all right)"
As of right now, Peterson is going to play Week 3, but these new developments may change all that.
UPDATE: Peterson's lawyer Rusty Hardin has issued the following statement:
