Despite the splash of excitement surrounding the signing of Josh Smith and the acquistion of Brandon Jennings last summer, the Detroit Pistons find themselves with a 28-49 record right now that will have them sitting on the couch come playoff time. And we all know what that means, right? Heads will have to roll during the offseason. And apparently, Pistons legends are not exempt.

According to ESPN.com, Pistons president Joe Dumars—who has been with the team in some capacity as both a player and a coach for almost 30 years now—is expected to step down before his contract expires on July 1. And the announcement could come as soon as this week. Dumars did lead the Pistons to an NBA title back in 2004. But in recent years, he hasn't enjoyed nearly as much success. So he could be on his way out.

Say it ain't so, Joe.
