If you missed the women's Olympic gold medal hockey game between the USA and Canada today, you missed a hell of a game. And you also likely prevented yourself from having a heart attack.

The United States team had a 2-0 lead over the Canadians with less than four minutes to go in the game—and they blew it. After the U.S. dominated for the first 56 minutes and held Canada scoreless, Canada scored a goal with 3:26 remaining in the game to make it 2-1. Then, the U.S. had a chance to score a goal on a wide-open net with 1:14 to go in the game to take a commanding 3-1 lead but this happened:

Just 20 seconds later, the Canadians responded with a shocking goal to make it 2-2. And in overtime, both teams had a number of chances to score. But about eight minutes into OT, Canada's Marie-Philip Poulin notched a power-play goal to give the Canadians a 3-2 victory and, more importantly, a gold medal. It had every single American who was watching feeling like this:

Regardless of what side you were on, though, the women's Olympic gold-medal hockey game was pretty awesome. It was also incredibly nerve-racking and probably took a few years off of everyone's life.
