An NFL Player Compares Himself to Birth Control

NFL quote of the year.

None

Despite the fact that he's had a problem securing the football at times this season, New York Giants running back David Wilson hasn't fumbled away his self-confidence. Far from it, actually. Even though TV cameras appeared to catch him shedding a few tears after putting the ball on the ground in the Giants season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, he still believes that he's going to become a great NFL player one day.

"I think at the end of my career, I'll be in the Hall of Fame," he told Newsday recently. "I know myself, and I know [when] I have guys around me that feel the same way, which I feel I do. When I get my opportunity, the sky is not the limit. I think it's past it. You have to believe in yourself to do good things. This is how I feel."

He wants you to feel that way, too. So, Wilson—who has shown glimpses of greatness as a return man for the G-Men—also unleashed what has to be the NFL quote of the year to show just how much he thinks you need to believe in him.

"I'm like birth control," he said. "You have to believe in me. Like birth control, 99.9 percent of the time I'm going to come through for you."

Comparing yourself to birth control?! Unconventional, for sure. But, also: Oh so f^*&@#! awesome!
