Nike plans to release a retro of the “Metallic Red” Nike Air Foamposite One colorway next year, according to an internal brand document viewed by Complex.
The shoe is slated to be part of Nike’s Summer 2023 collection and anticipated to launch in the first half of May. Its release date is subject to change—sneaker release dates will often shift before shoes are launched, especially in the wake of disruptions to the global supply chain caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The new “Metallic Red” Foamposite (style code DZ2545-600) will retail for $230.
The “Metallic Red” Nike Air Foamposite One first released in 2012 and released again in 2017. There are no images of the 2023 pair yet, and the one shown here is of the 2017 iteration. Based on the document viewed by Complex, the sneaker should look the same as the previous pairs, featuring a shiny red upper and translucent outsoles.
Nike has not publicly confirmed the release of this upcoming Foamposite and likely won’t do so until well into next year.
UPDATE (03/22): Official product images of this year’s “Metallic Red” Foamposite One have landed, which could serve as an indication that the release of the sneaker is imminent. It’s worth noting that this year’s version features leather on the eyelets instead of nubuck used on the previous pairs. Check back soon to Sole Collector for official updates in the coming weeks.
