Since the end of September, John Wall has officially been a sneaker free agent. But Wall continued to wear his signature adidas J Wall 2 up until last Wednesday when he took the court against the Toronto Raptors.

Instead of adidas on his feet, Wall opted to wear a pair of the Nike Kobe X Elite Low. But it wasn't a flex or a stunt or an indication that he'd left adidas for Nike. The Washington Post reports that Wall's decision to wear Nikes stemmed from discomfort in his left foot, the same foot and area in which he sustained a sprain during his rookie year, and his desire to temper the pain.

When Wall was asked if he would continue to wear Nikes, Wall stated, "It depends. My foot was a little sore so we’re just trying to get some stuff situated and figured out. I could go back to my old ones or some other ones. We’ll figure it out. But my foot, where I had my foot sprain, started to get a little sore so I had to find something else.”
