Differently the same. Whether we're hashtagging our team on Twitter, lining up for new releases or running our mouths about the latest f*ckery in our "tight knit" community, Apple freaks (or fanboys if you prefer) and sneakerheads have a lot in common. Hate it or love it, we have some strikingly similar habits and practices. Check out the 15 Ways Sneakerheads Are Like Apple Freaks.

We Don't Get Our Fix At Discount Retailers

Both sneakerheads and Apple Freaks are willing to go the extra mile for a discount on the latest release but we have our standards. Apple stores and Nike stores seem to be our first choice. Thankfully for sneakerheads, we have't had to worry about our beloved Js being sold at a certain low price leader, at least not yet. *sends "If that ever happens, I'm done, B." tweet*

We Buy For Our Girl to Encourage Our Habit

It's not just her. Of course your girl wants those new Js, so does your best friend's kid and your little nephew, so you make sure they're laced, in hopes that they get the same joy out of it that you do. Apple freaks do the same thing and FaceTime is the perfect excuse for you, your mama and your auntie to have the newest version for the holidays.

We Enjoy New Models That Make the Last Model Obsolete

"The new iOS is much better." "The new LeBron X has much better lockdown." Take your pick, either way, the "old" version is still pretty good despite how much we like that new "new." Otherwise millions of people wouldn't still be using it. Still, for sneakerheads and Apple fanboys, that's all irrelevant.

We Look Up to the Creators

Whether it's Steve Jobs or Tinker Hatfield, both Apple freaks and sneakerheads have incredible admiration for the creators of their beloved vices. In fact, some may qualify as stalkers based on the knowledge they have.

We Are Extremely Brand Loyal

If you're not on #teamiphone or #teamjordan then what is wrong with you? Apple freaks and sneakerheads are about as loyal as it gets and will defend buying a ticket to ride the Titanic just to show loyalty to the team.

We Stunt When We Get That New Sh*t

You mad? The only difference in the approach to stunting between sneakerheads and Apple freaks is that sneakerheads get to floss on fools weekly. Apple fanboys have to wait months in between new releases.

We Bitch About It On Twitter

We may line up early and buy things we don't have any need for but it's not without complaints. Twitter has become the new message board for the world and you can find everything sneakerheads and Apple freaks disdain with a simple search for "Apple needs to" or "Jordan Brand needs to," but careful, the results may become comically addictive.

We Line Up For Hours on Release Day

Apple freaks and sneakerheads will be out days in advance if necessary. And despite the rumors, it's not just for the frostbite and s'mores that we enjoy the waiting game for. There's actually 3 people camping at Supreme just in case that Supreme x Nike Sportswear x iPhone 11 rumor for 2024 is actually true.

We Believe Everything That's Promised To Us

Sneakerheads and Apple freaks are both guilty of thinking that the technology or design elements that are told to us will make the latest version the best ever. We just won't mention iOS, that APT heel design of the Air Jordan 2009 or the handful of other "improvements" that have become hypothetical paper weights.

We Don't Like Being Called Newbies

The number of times have you heard people say, "I am not a sneakerhead," is immeasurable, Nike even made shirt to score some extra profits off the naysayers. But if you called the same person a sneaker aficionado, they'd probably be cool with it. Apple freaks and fanboys are the same, way too knowledgeable about irrelevance to be referred to as common terminology that makes things easier for the world to describe them. No, we're way more than that. Call us enthusiasts or aficionados, make us feel special.

We Scour eBay Looking For Deals

Once in a while we have a specific reason to look at eBay for something. But most of the time, it's just like wandering into the swap meet, the excitement of finding "it" is unexplainable, just like the pile of other "its" you have buried in the basement.

We Are Resellers

Resellers suck. They take all the product and make it available to a bigger customer base through various means of promotion, which is exactly what a retailer is also. Let's quit bitchin' and quit frontin'. We're all to blame for it. Not too many sneakerheads or Apple freaks have simple donated all their shit to Goodwill. Before eBay it was garage sales and sidewalk sales in the hood where you got some extra change for your unwanted stuff but now because people see it on the internet, it's a bad thing. Besides, the comic book collectors been doing this way before sneakerheads and Apple fanboys even existed.

We Think People That Aren't Like "Us" Are The Weird Ones

Yeah, people look at us weird when we tell them we have a few hundred pairs of sneakers. They also give us strange looks when we have our iPad Mini, Macbook Air, iPhone and iPod all out at the same time. But seriously, they're the weird ones.

We Have To Have The Latest Release

We have our reasons. It's just different. Sneakerheads will cop the latest Js "for collection purposes" or "just to see how it performs" even if they don't own a basketball. Apple freaks copped the iPad mini because the size is perfect, just like the iPod Touch. And let's not get started on collecting colorways.

We Are Always on the Lookout For Spy Shots

We don't care if it's a flip-phone camera pic of a catalog scan shot through a cellophane wrapped magnifying glass. It's still, "Oh, shit! Is that the Yeezy III?!?!?!" Nah chill, it's the iPhone 6, bro.
