Following up news of a special Nike PG 3 release to celebrate Mamba Day 2019, there is now word that a Kyrie 5 inspired by the Black Mamba will also be hitting shelves to celebrate the anniversary of Kobe Bryant's final NBA game.
A first look at the "Mamba Mentality" Kyrie 5 comes courtesy of @maaallymall on Instagram. Despite the low quality of the photo, it does provide a good enough look at a white upper with purple and neon green accents. The color scheme is very similar to one of the more popular colorways of the Zoom Kobe 5, the Joker-inspired "Chaos" makeup that originally released in 2009.
Kyrie Irving's signature line has taken inspiration from Kobe's in the past as well. Other renditions that have released in recent years include a Kyrie 3 resembling the "Bruce Lee" Kobe 5 and Kyrie 4 mimicking the "Prelude" Kobe 5.
According to Finish Line's official release calendar, the "Mamba Mentality" Kyrie 5 will arrive at retailers on April 13 (Mamba Day). Expect the pair to retail at its usual $130 price tag.
