Since Virgil Abloh's massively successful release of "The Ten" back in 2017, Nike has used subtle inspiration from Abloh's deconstructed and overly branded pairs on a handful of in-house silhouettes as well. The latest pair that looks like it's getting that treatment is the Cortez.

This particular pair updates a classic white and black leather pair of the west coast favorite with excessive branding hits. A black mini Swoosh has been added to the lateral toe, Nike Sportswear hits have replaced the usual branding on the tongue and been added to the heel, and Abloh-esque Swooshes don the heel tab in place of the traditional "Nike" text as well.

Of course, this is not the first time that the Cortez has been remixed in 2018. Throughout the year, the '70s sneaker has most notably been tweaked by Kendrick Lamar for various collaborations inspired by his chart-topping project Damn and Cortez Kenny moniker.

A release date and pricing for this premium Cortez colorway have yet to be announced. In the mean time, take a look at initial images below, courtesy of US11
