This Is Why You Shouldn't Rob People Over Sneakers
Teen gets prison term after stealing sneakers.

An Albany, N.Y. teen was sentenced today to nine years in prison for robbing someone for their sneakers.
According to Times Union, 17-year-old Marquis Dixon scheduled a meetup last March with another teen, who he met through social media, to purchase a pair of sneakers. The two boys agreed to meet outside of a local McDonald's parking lot at 9:30 p.m.
During the encounter, the District Attorney says Dixon brandished what reportedly appeared to be a gun and ran off with the sneakers. Fortunately, the victim was left unharmed in the robbery.
Dixon was arrested soon after by Albany officials and was found guilty last November of first-degree robbery.
This sentencing comes just weeks after a chaotic "Legend Blue" Air Jordan XI release last month, which included a pepper-spray incident and the death of an armed-robbery suspect.
