When Tinker Hatfield set out to design the Jordan XI he found inspiration from an unusual object—a lawn mower. He felt the sneaker had to be tough around the edges, which is why you see the patent leather around the bottom third of the sneaker. Nuts? More like genius. Since the Air Jordan XI debuted in 1996, it has solidified itself as a game-changer in the Jordan line, and has gotten heavy wear, both on and off the court.
