A few months have passed since reports that Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry was possibly close to signing a lifetime contract with Under Armour emerged and now, the two entities have agreed on a contract extension.

Moments ago, Under Armour announced it had agreed to a new long-term extension with Curry, however specific details of the deal weren’t disclosed. It was also announced that Curry has been named the president of his UA Curry Brand and in his new role, he will provide insights to product development as well as future strategic business and marketing endeavors of the brand. The partnership also includes increased funding for the community impact efforts of Curry Brand, which aim to create opportunities for the next generation of athletes in underserved communities.

Under Armour confirmed that both parties came to terms last week when Curry met up with UA founder Kevin Plank and signed the finalized contract ahead of last week’s game between the Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks.

“If the past ten years have shown me anything, it’s that Under Armour and I can build great things together,” Curry said. “It’s all about impacting athletes and creating products that perform and resonate with them, and Under Armour does it best. In 2013, we bet on each other, and I’m all in on taking this next step together.”

Curry first signed with Under Armour after leaving Nike in 2013. Since then, Curry has 10 Under Armour Curry basketball models under his belt, including the launch of his own Curry Brand in 2020.
