Nike made a special pair of Bruins in honor of its EKINs, a select group of Swoosh employees that help educate retailers and consumers about their product and brand history.
A first look at the EKIN-exclusive Nike Bruin Low was shared by the brand’s marketing performance specialist, Brint Benson, on Instagram yesterday. Per @Hartcopy on Instagram, the shoe dons an orange-based color scheme as a nod to faded Nike shoeboxes. Additional details include a chili pepper graphic at the forefoot along with the phrase “Bringing the heat since 1981” printed on the shoelaces.
The EKIN division started in 1981 and the term was first used to describe Swoosh co-founder Phil Knight. The division was created to ensure that the passion for Nike product would live on for generations to come.
