Similar to the Nike Air Max 95 referencing the rivalry between the east and west coasts, the brand will continue the theme for this upcoming Blazer Mid release.Â
Featuring a black suede upper as the base, sail Swoosh branding surrounds the model, adding stitched "NY" and "LA" suede lettering on both left and right sides, respectively. Utilizing the color palettes from both the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, the left shoe is equipped orange laces with blue covering the tongue padding, while yellow laces and a purple tongue is applied to the opposite sneaker. Five sets of laces are included, allowing unique customization options.Â
The "NY vs. LA" Nike Blazer Mid is pegged for an Oct. 10 release date, which is just in time for the start of the 2018 NBA season.
UPDATE (11/14): Originally rumored to drop back in October, the "NYC Editions" Nike Blazer Mid will be hitting retailers this week on Friday, Nov. 16. The pair helps mark the debut of Nike's "NYC Editions" program that gives local creatives a chance to create their own Nike silhouettes. This pair was designed by Harlem rapper Sheck Wes and represents his bi-coastal lifestyle in New York and Los Angeles, and love for basketball using the colors of the Knicks and Lakers. Retail is set at $120.
