Remember that wrestling-inspired sneaker Wale teased back in May? The project, a collaboration with sneaker chain Villa, is almost ready for its release. Villa confirmed a July 21 release date on Thursday via the Instagram video below.
Promo pairs are already making the rounds, with pro wrestler Samoa Joe showing off his in the above photo.
The Asics Gel Lyte 3 design is inspired by the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and uses a colorway lifted from the promotion's belt.
This isn't the first time Wale and Villa have gotten together for a footwear project. They first connected on the "Bottle Rocket" Asics and also had a "Penn Relays" shoe in the works that was scrapped for legal reasons.
