Concepts will release not one but two versions of its heralded 2011 New Balance collaboration, the "Kennedy" 999, at ComplexCon this coming weekend. Along with a retro of the original colorway, the Boston-based store will bring out a never-before-released red pair that existed previously only as a sample.
The store isn't using the presidential name this time around, and the 2017 edition is officially called the Hyannis after a Cape Cod village that speaks to the original nautical theme.
The red colorway will release on Saturday, Nov. 4, followed by the blue on Sunday, Nov. 5, for $200 each at ComplexCon. The shoes will be available in men's sizes from 4 to 13.
While the 2011 "Kennedy" New Balance 999 used an Asian-made silhouette, these are from New Balance's Made U.S. line, which consists of shoes that contain a domestic value of 70 percent or greater.
