Boston police are looking for a suspect who stole eleven pairs of sneakers from survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Doug Julian and Lynn Crisci, who were both injured in the blasts from the tragic incident two years ago, were planning on gifting the sneakers to their running teammates who also survived the chaos of that day.
Unfortunately, they found their car yesterday ransacked of all the sneakers and athletic gear that they'd planned to give away. The thief even left a note that read, "From me to you," with a smiley face and a heart drawn on it.
Julian described being particularly hurt given that the crime happened on One Boston Day, which was meant as a day of reflection for Boston. “We go back to the car with a couple of survivors to give them their gifts and we get back to the car and my car is ransacked,” Julian said. “Everything is gone. So, it was just shocking. It's just one of those things where it was really devastating on a day like this.”
