Majority of our readers are probably too young to remember when Knicks center Willis Reed hobbled onto the court with a torn thigh muscle in game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals. The gutsy effort of the team's captain inspired the Knicks to go on to win the game 113-99 and capture their first NBA Championship. Its been said that Reed's initial appearance walking onto the court for that game was the greatest single moment in the history of Madison Square Garden. What our readers probably do remember is a similar situation last season involving Portland Trailblazers guard Brandon Roy. Roy's season was virtually declared finished when he suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee prior to the playoffs. However, in game 4 of the Blazers' opening round series against the Phoenix, Roy returned just eight days removed from surgery to lift his team to a win. The Blazers went on to lose the series, but Roy's miraculous return shall stand the test of time when great moments in the history of the franchise are remembered.

Roy looks to resume this season in a completely healthy manner. He plans on doing so wearing the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse. Seen here is a player exclusive that he'll open the season wearing during home games. The shoe features a white synthetic and mesh base, with red working the inner liner and outsole. Black hits the Swoosh on the side, while Roy's "BR-7" logo appears on red near the ankle. Though nothing is confirmed, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Hyperfuse player exclusive colorways release at House of Hoops later in the year. Would you pick up the B-Roy exclusive if that were the case?
