With the best record in baseball, the Chicago Cubs have already clinched a postseason berth, winning the NL Central following the St. Louis Cardinals' loss last night.
Leading the Cubs' resurgence this season has been reigning Rookie of the Year and MVP candidate Kris Bryant, who currently leads the team in batting and home runs. Bryant is also one of the faces of adidas' new era of athletes, and the brand showed appreciation for their baseball superstar and his team's accomplishment today.
The slugger was gifted with a special set of champagne-inspired cleats, tied to the tradition of a champagne bath celebration in the locker room after clinching a spot in the playoffs. They even included a golden ice bucket for the occasion.
Included models are the Energy Icon Boost 2.0 and Afterburner 3. As of now, adidas hasn't announced whether or not these pairs will release.
