In celebration of the Nike Air Force 1's 35th Anniversary, designer John Elliot was given the task of adding a unique twist to the model, but with the stipulation of maintaining the classic white-on-white aesthetic. The result is this friends and family exclusive that will debut at ComplexCon this weekend.
With the restrictions in place, Elliott wanted to find a way to still bring color to the design. To achieve that, he added and reduced layers to create shadow effects. Each layer was doubled to add dimension. The Swoosh is die-cut out of the foxing and quarter, with pebbled leather placed underneath to create more shadow. Even the deubres, lace keepers, aglets and tongues were doubled to for consistency.
Elliott will share his creation with friends and family in Long Beach.
