Year: 2012

Some mixed feelings were caught over these from everyone but at the end of the day you didn't have to be Killa Cam' circa 2002 to appreciate the all-pink upper. If anyone gave you a hard time you could have said you did it for boobs — noble gesture indeed.

Year: 1999

A work of art. The Flightposite picked up where the Foamposite One left off, streamlining the composite upper further and concealing the laces under a Swooshed cover. Worn by players as disparate as Tim Duncan and Allan Houston (a purple pair was even famously made up for Kobe Bryant), the Flightposite was a do-everything shoe for everyone, ushering in the future.

Year: Unreleased

Initially set to release in 2006, Nike scrapped the plans to release this to the masses. Instead, only a few pairs showed up on eBay for sneaker trollers worldwide. Is this a pair you would like to see roll out even with a $200+ price tag? Worth it.

Year: 2011

The "Electric Blue" Foamposite caused mass hysteria nationwide during the summer of 2011 (maybe because of its striking resemblance to the South Beach LeBron 8?) when hundreds lined up nationwide to cop these. Many ended up walking away with nada not only because shops sold out but also because many were robbed. The final tally reads like this: 12 robbed, 3 were stabbed, and 2 were killed and that was only in Maryland alone. The thirst went too far.

Year: 1997

It's been nothing for Nike to drop sneakers with colors that grab your attention the last few years but in '97 they may have released one of their most distinctive colorways yet with the "Voltage" Foamposite Pro. The shoes were a Footaction Only release and shared the same idea as the "Thunder" IVs. While we're on the subject of retros, these can make their way back anytime.

Year: 2011

The gunmetal joints might be one of the most underrated Foamposites to date, due to its release during Nike's revitalization year (they didn't really leave but damn did they step it up again). The chrome was a no-brainer if you are a fan of the silhouette — always strapped from the feet up.

Year: 1998

The shoe that actually gave Tim Duncan a little street credibility re-released in 2011 and even though they are a little bulky (even more so than regular Foams) it didn't stop them from flying off the shelves again 13 years after its initial release. Tim Duncan sneaker icon, it has a ring to it.

Year: 2011

Another sneaker Wale was showing off early — the pine green Pros didn't need a gimmick or a cool nickname for people to want to don these on their feet.

Year: 2012

On point for last year's St. Valentine's Day sneaker massacre, if your girl (or guy) really loved you, they skipped the dinner and chick flick and went straight to the lingerie and gifting these. No? There's always the "Royal" Jordan is this year.

Last year's all-black Foamposite Ones are still too new to know how they will hold up over time but the murdered-out kicks have already topped most people's favorite Foams list.

When Nike gets creative in partnering with another company for marketing ideas, the results are usually unforgettable. You had to be weird to get your hands on the Paranorman Foamposites, but that in itself made you cool. These were dope, even if you weren't one of the cool kids.

Year: 2006

Part of the Fantastic Four collection, the Dr, Doom model was the stand-out pair from the pack. The simple black and white uppers has been working for a minute (Reebok anyone?) and the shoe proved to be one of the most coveted Foams to date. Too many people slept on these when they released in 2006, umm can we get a mulligan?

Year: 2003

Whether it's Mya in a Carolina Blue dress or Nike honoring Mike's alma mater, the Tar Hell blue always makes any sneaker look fresher — it's just different.

Year: 1999

Before Eggplant met the Foamposite One in '99 it made up one of the most "hate it or love it" Nike Basketball shoes to date. Re-released on 2008, these didn't move the same kind of units as other Foams but if you actually hooped in these you know they're legit and worth every dollar ( a couple hundred actually).

Year: 2012

The Galaxy pack from last year's All-Star Game is going to be tough to beat and when Nike rolled out photos and release info for the "Galaxy" Foams, hypebeasts damn near lost it — people were even trying to trade their ride for a pair. No chill at all over these kicks, they rung out in the streets.

Year: 2009

Wale started rocking them months before they came out and pre-sale prices hit over $500. We can't blame people for tossing out cash to get a pair, at the time it was one of the most unique concepts and paying homage to Penny with the copper colorway was a good look for all parties involved.

Year: 1999

Released in very limited numbers, if you can still find a pair in good condition it's going to cost you Yeezy I prices. The all-black Flightposite doesn't get enough props for it's light, responsive, and stealth design that allowed players to creep on their prey and excel and prevail. Damn Nike, hook it up.

Year: 2010

How often you going to talk about eggplant at the dinner table without it including Sunday gravy? The colorway caught on quick and became one of the most coveted Foamposites during the roll out of releases in 2010.

Year: 1997

When it comes to Foams, "clean design" isn't usually the first things that comes to mind, but the white upper meshed with black was a simple move but it paid off big. The 2010 re-release didn't disappoint, these kicks had sneakerheads hype to grab a pair, again and again. If Jesus himself endorses these then why would you even question their validity?

Year: 1997

A real game-changer. The molded Nike Air Foamposite One was different from anything Nike had ever done before, different from anything ANYONE had done before. A design intended for Scottie Pippen, but Penny took the sneaker for himself. Eric Avar's design used the best Nike had to offer, from Zoom Air to a translucent outsole to a carbon spring plate. The $180 price point was astronomical at the time — but perhaps appropriate for some shoes that looked like they came straight from a NASA laboratory.
