There's another round of environmentally-minded shoes coming from the Parley x Adidas collaboration. On Friday, the brand announced the navy set of shoes pictured here, which are releasing on May 10.
The blue shades uniting these sneakers are a reference to the oceans that their materials are sourced from. The Ultra Boost, Ultra Boost X, Ultra Boost Uncaged, and Terrex ClimaCool that make up the pack reuse an average of 11 plastic bottles per pair. The shoes have laces, heel webbing, and lining made from recycled materials.
"The new additions to the Adidas x Parley collection are another step in our journey to creating one million pairs of Ultra Boost from up-cycled marine plastic,” said Mathias Amm, product category director at Adidas Running, via a press release. "As a global brand we have a responsibility to help change the world for the better."
Amm's quote is a reference to Adidas' pledge from 2016 to make one million pairs of Ultra Boosts in 2017 using ocean plastic.
