ESPN's 30 for 30 series has gained popularity thanks to its in-depth examinations of stories that haven't been completely explained before. The latest tale to be told is of Friedman's Shoes, a custom footwear shop in Atlanta that specialized in luxury shoes in the '80s and '90s for athletes with a size 13 shoe or bigger.

The film, directed by Danny Lee, takes a look at the role that Friedman's played in catering to NBA stars such as Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, Dikembe Mutombo, and more.

But the good times don't always last, and the shop and its owner, Bruce, have come across hard times before of "two major cultural shifts: the rise of athlete fashion and the fall of retail stores."

Watch an exclusive clip of the documentary, part of the 30 for 30 Shorts series, above and wait for it todebut on Tuesday, February 9, at 10 a.m on ESPN.com.
