In 2012, the Strom family lost their 19-year-old son Patrick in a tragic car accident, and for years they didn't know what to do with his massive Nike sneaker collection. Now with the holidays approaching, they've decided to honor their late son and his giving spirit by donating his prized sneakers to local children in the New Tampa, FL area.

The Strom family isn't stopping when his collection is gone though, they've partnered with Nike to create Trick's Kicks, a non-profit organization that will continue to collect sneakers and donations for families in need. His mother Kathy Strom spoke to the ABC Action News about how she didn't understand or share his love for sneakers initially, but has grown to appreciate them because of how much they meant to her late son. “We’re so into these Nike shoes because only the best for Patrick,” said Strom. What an incredible way for this family to honor their late son.
