Kevin Durant is a world-class athlete and one of the best players in the NBA, but there was a time when he was told that he wasn't strong enough to play in the NBA. His solution wasn't to give it up — he put in more work, and a lot of it was done on Hunt's Hill, a steep incline near where he grew up in Maryland. Nike has now used this story to give life to the KD8, Durant's latest signature sneaker.
The sneakers come with a black midsole and with a bright red upper, made to reflect the concept of a "sunrise," much like how Durant trained as a youth. As he says, "If we could conquer [the hill], we could conquer anything."
The "Hunt's Hill Sunrise" Nike KD8 will release on August 1.
