Flexing a pair of sneakers on the 'gram? Please, that's passé. The new wave is showing off your whole closet, and New Orleans' Jrue Holiday is the latest baller to get in on the fun.
After growing tired of piling shoebox upon shoebox, Holiday decided it was time for a change. With a little help from his wife and her mother, Holiday decided to turn the sprawling collection into an organized display.
Calling it a "library," Holiday gushes while describing the process: "At first I wanted it all under glass, but my wife thought that was a little gaudy. My favorite pairs are all under glass that light up. You can change the colors." But this setup goes far beyond illumination—each section is organized by style, with retros, game-worn kicks, trainers, and high-end designer shoes each sectioned off into individual groups.
As for which sneakers get worn and which are strictly for display, Holiday explains, "There are a select few where I have to wear these, where I say, ‘One day I’m going to wear these, but not today.' My favorite shoes, my under-glass shoes, I don’t think I’ll ever wear them."
