The remastered program at Jordan Brand represented an exciting change for a lot of consumers. It meant that those who had noticed declining product quality were going to be validated and rewarded for their criticism with shoes that were better made. The cynical among the community saw it as an opportunity for Jordan Brand to rerelease retros, or retro colorways, sooner than the typical retro cycle would allow it.
The first real test of those two ideas will come in May with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Remastered “Chicago.” Instagram user shoulee81 gave a pretty thorough look at the shoe so we can see what to expect this May, something that we told you was coming this past September. It’s the same colorway as the Chicago Air Jordan 1 Mid that came out less than two years ago but as a high version of the shoe, with a mesh tongue and a Nike label.
The important question will be: Is it different enough that people will pay the $160 price tag? What do you think?
