Before Pharrell, adidas Originals inked a deal with one of the super producer's closest friends, Nigo, the streetwear pioneer who founded A Bathing Ape and now serves as creative director of Uniqlo's UT collection. It was a power move to bring on board one of the legends in street culture and fashion. And while we're just a day from the official launch of Pharrell's Three Stripes collection, we now have the first preview of what Nigo is bringing to the table.
Unveiled through Japanese magazine Honeyee, Nigo's collection consists of five sneakers that use existing adidas silhouettes, like the Rivalry Hi, ZX 500, and Superstar 80s. Each sneaker is also branded with the number 25—a loose translation of the Japanese word "nigo," which means quarter.
An official release date has not yet been revealed for the collection.
