Currently the fastest man on earth, it came as to little surprise that Usain Bolt won the 100m at the IAAF World Championship yesterday. After falling behind early, Bolt still managed to run a 9.77 as he bested American Justin Gatlin and fellow Jamaican Nesta Carter. Bolt’s time however was still his slowest major 100m final. Despite the wet conditions, Bolt admitted that he was content however wanted to go faster.  "My legs were sore after the semi-finals, I don't know why, but the world record wasn't on so I came out just to win," he said. "Back in Jamaica, they do not expect less than that from me. They always expect me to dominate."

Usain Bolt’s footwear of choice was the Puma evoSpeed Runner—the same spike he used to dominate last year in London. The evoSpeed is a very lightweight, a size 9 clocks in at only 7.8 ounces. The shoe owes its light weight to an upper with no overlays. Creating a breathable and sturdy, the shoe’s upper has two layers of mesh that work well to keep the foot in place as Bolt reaches top speed. The midsole is a one piece of lightweight foam which provides a soft landing for the heel strike and still firm yet soft for the forefoot so it can handle longer runs on harder surfaces.
