This day and age of sneakers it isn't old news that as we move towards the future of things we do expect to pay a little bit more for that sneaker we want. From new styles to old greats, sneakers (especially in the realm of basketball) the prices are steadily increasing. But to what cost? It is obvious that most sneakers, like some of the numbered Air Jordans, aren't re-released with a performance state of mind. Sometimes they are just made from the profitable stand point and somehow lacks in performance; this where the Nike KD VI comes in.

When people first saw the KD VI, the initial reaction was, “What’s going on with the tongue?” Rather than a traditional tongue, designer Leo Chang went with an asymmetrical overlapping tongue. When putting on the shoe, the tongue gets in the way of lacing the sneaker tight for a locked-in feel. Without that feel, it’s easy for your feet to not get the grip it needs when going up against a quicker defender.

The Nike KD VI may have its faults but as far as cushioning, heel-toe transitioning and traction the shoe is quality. That being said, the shoe still lacks in the price to performance aspect. The Nike KD II was a great shoe and came in at $85 and has proved to still be better than the recent KD signatures. So what do you do? Do you buy off style or buy off performance? Let us know below.
