When you talk about the greatest years in sneaker history, 1988 is one that tends to get overlooked. Nike's Air Max had been introduced the year before, Reebok's Pump was still a year off. Despite the introduction of what may be the single best sneaker of all-time, 1988 is viewed primarily as a bridge year. Not so.
