What was supposed to be an eventful vacation last week for Michael Giddens, the owner of the online sneaker store Heart and Sole Cincy, turned into his worst nightmare upon returning home.

Giddens shared on the store’s Instagram account yesterday that his Cube Smart storage unit used to store the shop’s inventory was burglarized. According to Gidden, 300 pairs were stolen with a total of around $100,000, although it’s not specified if the amount is retail or resale value. Giddens also shared surveillance videos that were captured of the crime, which showed that there were multiple people involved in the theft.

Giddens has since filed a police report on the incident, which states that the crimes happened on April 1 at 7 p.m. local time. Giddens told WLWT he regrets having only a small insurance policy for the sneakers in the unit but he hopes that the surveillance footage and pictures will help police catch the thieves.

Giddens has also started a GoFundMe in the wake of the crime and at the time of writing, around $7,000 has been raised. According to the GoFundMe caption, the money will help recover some of the funds stolen and will also pay off his business debts.
