In the new clip, available below, Dave Chappelle is seen taking a relaxing drive through rural America while being soundtracked by the soothingly complementary sounds of a Freeman narration and a familiar instrumental take on a Pixies classic. But Chappelle just can’t take any more narration, as evidenced by his outsized reaction:

In a matter of days, another new stand-up special from Dave Chappelle will be made available on Netflix.
“Comedians have a responsibility to speak recklessly,” the well-documented Radiohead fan is heard saying in the clip, marking a differently worded version of a previously shared sentiment fans should recognize.
Wednesday, the streamer shared a short teaser video for the special, which carries the title The Closer and is billed as “the sixth chapter.” This makes sense given that Closer is preceded in the comedian’s Netflix catalog by The Age of Spin, Deep in the Heart of Texas, Equanimity, The Bird Revelation, and Sticks & Stones.

Back in 2016, Page Six and others reported that Chappelle’s Netflix deal was worth as much as $60 million. At the time, Chappelle was fresh off hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time in his career. Four years later, he returned to host the NBC sketch show once more, this time in the middle of the 2020 presidential election chaos.
Over the summer, a Pilot Boy Production documentary produced by Chappelle and directed by American Factory’s Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar was selected as the closing night film for the Tribeca Festival. The film—in the words of Chappelle—is one about “courage and resilience, something New Yorkers can relate to.”
The doc is said to give viewers a look into the challenges that faced a rural Ohio community during the earlier days of the COVID-19 pandemic, just as citizens there and across the country were responding to the murder of George Floyd.
