Our first look at the comedy film shows Tosin Cole and Jacob Latimore in the lead roles, as they throw a huge party at an exclusive mansion as a part of their job as house cleaners. It’s then revealed that the home belongs to none other than LeBron himself, complete with a hologram of himself that gives him compliments. “You handled the decision to go to Miami perfectly,” the hologram tells the two characters, as they plan their party.

The trailer promises everything from celebrity guests, including Kid Cudi and Snoop Dogg, to a stoned koala. Penned by Jamal Olori and Atlanta writer Stephen Glover, the R-rated comedy features a stacked cast of newcomers and high-profile cameos. The arrival of the trailer comes not long after New Line announced that the movie, which was originally set to debut on HBO Max, would be delayed from its initially planned Dec. 9 release to one just a month later.

To coincide with the release of the trailer, 2 Chainz has shared his contribution to the movie’s soundtrack, “2 Step.”

The reboot was first announced all the way back in 2018, with LeBron and Maverick Carter on board as producers through their production company SpringHill Entertainment. Glover and Olori later joined as writers, while Calmatic signed on as director by the end of 2019.

House Party is set to hit theaters on Jan. 13, 2023.
