Daniel Craig is weighing in on if a woman should take on the role of James Bond.
The longtime Bond actor opened up to Radio Times weeks before the U.S. release of No Time to Die, explaining that the answer, for him, is “very simple.”
“There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color,” Craig said. “Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?”
Craig isn’t the only 007-affiliate to share a statement like this, either. Franchise producer Barbara Broccoli agreed more roles like Bond should be available for women, but thought the role of Bond should stay with a man.
