FX confirmed on Thursday that the previously announced fourth season of Donald Glover’s Atlanta will also be its last.

Per Variety, FX CEO John Landgraft confirmed the news during the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour. He noted that both new seasons have been shot, with Season 3 set to debut on March 24, and Season 4 to follow this fall. So, the bad news is that Atlanta is coming to an end, but the good news is fans will get two seasons of the show this year.

“The fourth and final season is slated to debut in the same manner this fall,” Landgraf said. “The new season is everything you’ve come to expect from Atlanta, which is to say, expect the unexpected. Sit back and enjoy the trip.”

Fans have been waiting a long time for more Atlanta, as Season 2 arrived four years ago next month. Due to the demanding schedules of the core cast, and the COVID-19 pandemic, production on the show faced multiple delays.

It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that Glover is looking to move on from the world of Atlanta, after he signed a deal with Amazon last year reportedly worth eight-figures. The first of his projects with the company has already run into some issues, however, as his would-be co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge exited his Mr. & Mrs Smith series. The reboot of the 2005 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie movie of the same name will still star Glover, who is also on board as co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner.
