Jeff Goldblum Is Releasing a Jazz Album

Jeff Goldblum is known for his smooth talking ways (and that shirtless scene in Jurassic Park.) But now the Thor: Ragnarok actor will be able to add "signed jazz pianist" to his resumé.

Billboard reports Goldblum signed a deal with Universal Music Group's classical label Decca Records. It turns out the label executives caught Goldblum performing on a British talk show with Gregory Porter when the wheels started spinning on signing him to the label.

"As far as I can tell, everyone loves Jeff Goldblum," said Decca director of A&R, Tom Lewis in a press statement. "He's a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world. His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy. If we can take Jeff's music into people's homes then we will be helping, in our own small way, to make the world a happier place."

Goldblum also shared some love for his newfound label deal. "I'm so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca, one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time," he said.

Goldblum is far from new to the jazz scene. He reportedly started learning to play the piano at a young age and continued to do so in Pittsburgh cocktail lounges during his teenage years. Goldblum has also performed with his jazz band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, since the '90s and hosts a jazz variety show at Los Angeles's Rockwell Table and Stage. And then there was the time he showed off his piano skills in an out-of-the-box commercial with Lil Wayne. Now, he'll have a debut album on the way for all the Goldblum and jazz enthusiasts.
