Dentist Who Killed Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe Will Not Face Charges

Remember Walter Palmer, the world's most controversialdentist? Remember that time he murdered a beloved lion known to most of the planet as Cecil? Well, he's now free to continue killing as many animals as he wants because Zimbabwe confirms that he will not face charges stemming from Cecil's calculated demise.

"We approached the police and then the Prosecutor General," Zimbabwe's Environment Minister Oppah Muchinguritells BBC News. "It turned out that [Walter] Palmer came to Zimbabwe because all the papers were in order." Of course, Palmer has maintained some variation of the "papers in order" argument throughout the entire controversy, though his actions ultimately beg the question: Sure, you're rich and can easily throw down $50,000 (+) to secure your chance to kill a lion. But should you?

Cecil, who was 13 years old upon his death, resided at the expansive Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. His daily movements and general activities were being closely monitored by a research team from Oxford University, a project cut dramatically short by Palmer's rich boy activity of hunting large animals for no real reason whatsoever.

Though he may have evaded charges for this most recent assholery, Palmer might want to keep an eye on Betty White. "You don't want to hear some of the things I want to do to that man," White told the Associated Press earlier this year. "It's such a heartbreaker. You can't even talk about it, and to see this king of the jungle and personifying it in every way, this gorgeous creature. How can somebody do that?"
