Ahead of the film’s global premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Netflix has shared a new teaser trailer for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

Leading the cast is Daniel Craig, who’s again taking on the part of Detective Benoit Blanc, albeit working a case in Greece this time around. Craig is joined in the ensemble by Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, Leslie Odom Jr., Kathryn Hahn, Madelyn Cline, Dave Bautista, Jessica Henwick, and Kate Hudson.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery hits Netflix on Dec. 23 and will also be premiering in select theaters, with additional details on the latter still to come. See the new teaser trailer above.

Chief among Johnson’s inspirations is the late mystery novelist Agatha Christie, who—in Johnson’s own words—should be remembered for having worked to “stretch” the mystery genre.

“Something I love about Agatha Christie is how she never tread water creatively,” Johnson said in August when detailing the intention behind the title for his latest Knives Out universe entry. “I think there’s a misperception that her books use the same formula over and over, but fans know the opposite is true.”

In early 2021, it was reported that Netflix had finalized a deal for two follow-ups to Knives Out, with Johnson set to direct both. According to Variety, which also confirmed that Craig would return for both films, the deal was worth an estimated $450 million.
