A 21-year-old Florida man says he accidentally shot and killed an 18-year-old woman during a round of what he told detectives was "freaky sex," according to local station WFTS. Tyrone Fields says that Christina Meagher asked him to put his 9 mm gun to her head while they were "role-playing" in his room at Tampa’s Regency Inn and Suites, prompting him to take out the pistol’s magazine while forgetting to remove a bullet still in the chamber.

"The defendant stated that he intentionally pulled the trigger as part of the role-play," states a police report obtained by New York Daily News. "The handgun fired a single round into the victim’s head." According to the same report, Fields was on top of Meager but wasn’t directly engaged in intercourse during the shooting. While Fields is currently incarcerated at a Hillsborough County jail on charges of felony manslaughter with a weapon, the hotel’s security footage and an autopsy reportedly show that the pair entered the room "consensually." Investigators have also ruled out the possibility of sexual battery.

"That just flipped my whole head around," Nathan Bradley, Meagher’s cousin, tells WFTS. "I honestly don’t know what to believe anymore. She loved to have fun. She couldn’t listen to anything anybody told her, but she was her. Everybody loved her for it." Bradley also revealed that he's always had "doubt" surrounding the death of his cousin: "I never actually truly believed the story because there was always a doubt in my mind that that's not really how it happened." Investigators maintain, however, that all evidence backs up Fields' account.
