Beth Chapman, co-star ofDog the Bounty Hunter, has died following a battle with lung cancer.

Her death was confirmed by husband Duane "Dog" Chapman in a tweet Wednesday saying she had "hiked the stairway to heaven." Speaking with USA Today, family attorney Andrew Brettler said they were "heartbroken" by the news that Chapman had "passed away early this morning Hawaii time." Over the weekend, Chapman—who was initially diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer in 2017—had been placed in a medically induced coma.

It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.

The couple rose to prominence with the hit A&E series Dog the Bounty Hunter, which ran for eight seasons and was followed by a CMT spin-off titled Dog and Beth: On the Hunt and a 2017 special, Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives. The latter focused on Beth's cancer diagnosis.

RIP Beth.
Used to watch Dog the Bounty Hunter & she was always cool. Was the best one out of the crew. 51 is way too young to die of cancer. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/uxLz1BYkGC
