If you're the kind of person who noticed that October came and went without a scary movie, take heart: the latest Paranormal Activity is the best in the series. Subtitled The Marked Ones, it opens in theaters today. (And Paranormal Activity 5 will follow in October 2014.) January might not conjure up any Halloween feelings, but people like getting scared regardless of the time of year. Heart-pounding terror is some weird sadomasochistic thing lots of us are programmed to enjoy.
