Star Wars: Episode VII isn't set to be released until 2015, but, apparently, analysts are already predicting huge box office numbers for the film.
According to Variety, Disney has seen a surge in their stocks recently despite the fact that their latest film, The Lone Ranger, completely tanked in the box office and result in up to a $190 million loss. The reason for this, reportedly, is Star Wars--as Credit Suisse’s Michael Senn is predicting, the film is slated to earn $1.2 billion in the box office upon its release, plus more from merchandising, all which could total a massive $733 million in profits for the company. All just from the first film.
Though the release of Episode VII is way in the future, apparently these numbers are a sure thing--as Indiewire puts it, "it's not a matter of if "Star Wars: Episode 7" will cross $1 billion, it's by how much." Unless they bring back Jar Jar Binks or something, of course.
