It's election time, and that can only mean one thing for Saturday Night Live - tons of material. With the show's 38th season kicking off this Saturday, reports are finally surfacing that creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels has finally settled on who's going to portray the various politicians that will appear in the more politically-centered skits. So, drumroll please: Jay Pharoah will portray President Obama, Taran Killam as Paul Ryan, and Jason Sudeikis will remain in his role as Mitt Romney for the time being. Also, we gotta point out - we totally predicted Pharoah would make a great Obama, like, two years ago.
What does this mean for Fred Armisen, who portrayed Obama in the past? According to Michaels, Armisen is still the show's "backbone," so there's no need to be worried about permanently losing the best Joy Behar impersonator on the show to Portlandia or something.
