After the trainwreck that was Aliens: Colonial Marines last year, fans have every right to be skeptical about a new game based on anything related to the Alien/s series. Setting Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation up as a story that works based on Ridley Scott's original film is arguably a much better idea in terms of an interesting direction for a videogame, and thus far the response has been relatively positive.
And now fans can take solace in the fact that the game has a release date: October 7, just in time for Halloween. Sega announced the release date earlier this weekend, though no new information on the game was given. After the Gearbox disaster, though, you can bet they're probably monitoring Creative Assembly closely, so here's hoping it'll turn out for the best. Alien: Isolation will be out for last and current-gen consoles.
