Mike and Eleven Are Going Steady in 'Stranger Things' Season 3

Season 3 of Netflix's 'Stranger Things' is going to be full of puppy love, and more "Dad Steve."

Good news for all you Mike x Eleven (Meleven?) and Lucas x Max (Lax?) shippers out there—executive producer of Stranger Things Shawn Levy has recently revealed that Season 3 will see an abundance of puppy love for the budding couples that we finally saw get together in Season 2.

On the red carpet before the Stranger Things panel at PaleyFest, Levy revealed that Season 3 would fast forward to a year after the events of the Season 2 finale, and that our favorite young couples would be going steady. "Mike and Eleven and are going strong, so that's a relationship that continues, and same with Mad Max and Lucas. But Again, they're like 13 or 14-year-old kids, so what does romance mean at that stage of life? It can never be simple and stable relationships and there's fun to that instability," Levy told The Hollywood Reporter.

During the panel, the cast and producers discussed some of the most enjoyable moments of filming Season 2, as well as a taste of what we can expect for the upcoming season. Winona Ryder revealed that it was fun to be in a room with two of her childhood crushes; one being panel moderator Will Wheaton, and her on-screen boyfriend, Sean Astin. Ryder wasn't the only one enjoying bonding with new cast mates—Millie Bobby Brown explained that she was overjoyed when Sadie Sink (Mad Max) joined the cast. "I was like 'I love her, also, another girl," Brown said during the panel.

As far as Season 3, we know that two recurring characters have been added to the stellar ensemble; Lucas' little sister, Erica, played by Priah Ferguson, and a new character, Robin, played by Maya Thurman-Hawke. This new character will reportedly be a young woman bored at her job until she discovers some of the dark secrets of Hawkins. Ferguson's character is also said to have a larger role in the upcoming season, which is great news; her sass in Season 2 was such an underrated highlight.

We're also likely to see a reprisal of Joe Keery's character Steve Harrington's new role as "Dad Steve" according to Levy. "We'll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in season three, and I'll just say we won't be abandoning the Dad Steve magic. I don't want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve," Levy said.

Season 3 has no official release date as of yet, but the cast and crew will return to set this month to start filming.
